Good processor for gaming- what you need to know!

I actually wrote a post on the subject: which is the best processor for gaming, now I am trying to give some information for a good processor for gaming, not the best, but something that can perform much better than regular CPUs.

In my opinion a gaming processor must have a minimum clock speed of at least 2.4 GHz, something around 2.2 GHz and 3.0 GHz is perfect. As we all know, CPUs are not that cheap nowadays and it’s basically up to you to choose a CPU that you can afford. Also you must take into consideration what type of games you enjoy playing. This is very important and in order to have an idea of  the minimum CPU clock speed you must choose, you have to look at the requirements of the games you play. For example, let’s say you like Call of Duty 3, what you need to do is Google “Call of duty 3 requirements”, and you can easily find out that you need at least an Intel Pentium 4 CPU with 2.28 Ghz clock speed.

Good processor for gaming under $100

It’s hard choosing a good processor for gaming mainly because technology is changing so fast that is hard to keep track with all the new releases. My suggestion to you is to calculate the minimum clock speed required by the games you like and then add 1.0 GHz or at least 0.5 GHz to that. Doing so you will not only play games that are out right now but you can also play games that are going to be released in the near future. Bellow you will find a list of good processors for gaming that are under $100.

Good CPUs for gaming in 2012

The year 2012 was a good one for the technology world due to the fact that AMD and Intel both released a high number of new processors. Intel released a few i5 and i7 processors and AMD released the FX series with 4 and 8 cores. From all those releases what to choose?

Bellow you will find a few good processors for gaming for the year 2012:

These are the top choices that I believe to be a good processor for gaming in 2012 and maybe in 2013 as well (depending on what games you like). Do your research before you buy and take into consideration that each processor is compatible with a certain motherboard. For example if you have an Intel based motherboard and socket you can’t use an AMD processor and vice versa.
