It’s not always easy to choose the best representatives of an entire niche in the electronics market, as it happens with choosing the best 27 inch LED monitors for the year 2013. The easiest way to do that is to have some criteria, like resolution, ergonomic options, OSD settings, image quality, and of course price. Between the built-in quality, the incorporated specs, and the price, there must be some sort of unitary rapport.

Asus PB278Q

I consider the PB278Q to be one of the most suitable examples of great price great specs. That doesn’t imply that this is an affordable display, it’s just rightly priced. It’s one of the best 27 inch LED monitors that comes with ultra-high resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels).

As a monitor with 1440p resolution, it’s highly fitted for professionals. Obviously, the IPS technology was used in the manufacturing process of this beautiful display. It makes colors even more vivid and accurate, besides the conferred wide viewing angles. This is how the best 27 inch LED monitors should perform like.

The main specs for the PB278Q are: 300 cd/m2, which is a standard value and it’s a little disappointing but, even so, the colors impress with their brightness and accuracy, 5ms response time so gaming is not on the list of activities recommended to be performed on this 27 inch UHD LED panel, 60Hz standard refresh rate, 80,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, and it supports 16.7 million colors. The entire range of ergonomic options is included – tilt, height, swivel, and pivot adjustments.

One con to be mentioned is the lack of any USB connectors, which is quite unusual for this price level. The inputs comprise VGA, DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI.

There might be some consumers that don’t make the distinction between 1080p and 1440p but that’s not the case of professionals or the case for consumers who want the best that technology has to offer at a reasonable price. As many say, once you have tried ultra-high resolution you can’t go back to high resolution.

Asus VG278HE

There are plenty of buyers who consider that the Full HD resolution is just not enough in terms of pixels density for a 27 inch LED panel. On the other hand, I am also aware of the fact that not everyone can afford ultra-high resolution monitors. That’s the reason for choosing the Asus VG278HE as a candidate for the best 27 inch LED monitor. Another strong reason is that this model is strongly suited for gamers who have a more affordable budget.

The VG278HE has an impressive refresh rate of 144Hz, but you will end up using just the 120Hz refresh rate, which is perfect for gaming. Another strong and impressive spec is the 2ms GTG response time. It’s not the actual time, but it still ensures highly qualitative gaming performances, which are also supported by the Trace Free technology.

Besides that, this is a 27 inch LED monitor with Full HD resolution and it’s also 3D capable. The 3D content will be played once you get the 3D kit, that’s not included in the price. Furthermore, it has 300 cd/m2 brightness as an average value and 50 million: 1 dynamic contrast ratio. The ergonomic options are pretty well covered, including height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. As inputs, the users benefit from HDMI, VGA, and DVI-D.

The image quality is not beyond impressive but the strongest reason for viewing the Asus VG278HE as one of the best 27 inch monitors is really good gaming performances for the price.

Acer G276HL

If you are looking for the best 27 inch LED monitor for a cheap price, Acer G276HL might be just the thing for you. It has Full HD resolution and the image quality is just perfect for regular usage, like surfing the web and Office usage. Besides the really good image quality for this low price, the exterior design is also impressive – the thin bezel imprints a long lasting beautiful impression on the viewer. The sleek looks is an advantage because it doesn’t suggest a sense of cheapness.

The 27 inch LED display features Full HD resolution and this is a glossy panel. Furthermore, another great aspect is that this is also an IPS display, which ensures that the viewing angles are widely satisfactory. The low price also implies that the ergonomic options are very limited, only tilt is includes amongst ergonomics. Another con is the limited number of connectors – only VGA and DVI-D inputs, no HDMI or USB ports. That’s a big compromise so carefully consider your options before buying.

The 6ms GTG response time and the 60Hz refresh rate implies that the G276HL is only fitted for light gaming. It is also characterized by average 300 cd/m2 brightness and 100 million: 1 dynamic contrast ratio. Even so, the colors are bright and vivid, both being big advantages for Acer G276HL and strong reasons for choosing this model as one of the best 27 inch LED monitors if you are on a tight budget.

Right from the start, I should mention that for my Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p review I have chosen the best equipped version from the three existent ones because I find it that the price quality rapport is very well balanced.

I think that we can as far as to say that the price is pretty affordable for what it offers. It’s then when you know that you have a good product in your hands.

The hardware assembly is powerful enough so it can keep up pretty well with software and games releases that will take place in the following years. It’s also upgradeable, in respect to adding a better SSD with more storage space. Otherwise, the 16GB of memory are more than enough for any game and multitasking so that’s out of your hands.

Except for the CPU and the GPU, you can upgrade or change pretty much everything else that hides under the hood. Upgradeability is always a strong point to be mentioned on the advantages list in this Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p review. Check Price at Amazon

The display is one of the most attractive things. It’s a 15.6 inches Full HD 1080p TN panel with amazing brightness. Another great feature is that it’s a matte screen. Colors are vivid and accurate so you will love it.

As connectors, it features 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, HDMI and VGA outputs, Ethernet port, SD card reader, and two audio jacks. Connectivity is ensured through 802.11N wireless, WiDi support, Smart Connect, and Bluetooth 4.0. The red backlit keyboard is beautiful and of superior quality, while the touchpad is exactly the opposite.

The IdeaPad Y510p is the successor of the Y500, which offered two graphic cards, also known as SLI setup. That tradition is carried on by the Y510p, obviously with an upgrade. This time the incorporated GPUs are dual Nvidia GeForce GT 750M, instead of the GT 650M SLI. The current SLI amounts to 2GB GDDR5 video memory and it’s capable of keeping up with the established names in the gaming industry.

It’s very important to mention in my Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p review that even though this is not a high-end laptop, its performances are pleasantly surprising users. More demanding games are playable without lags in medium to high settings. With the exception of games like Metro, Crysis 3, and other similar games in respect to system demands, high fps rates are achieved on ultra-settings. This pretty affordable laptop has great specs that make it a great choice for multimedia usage, as well.

The Processor has also been upgrade, as it was expected. The switch was made towards the new 4th generation Intel CPUs. The raw power is brought on by the Quad-Core i7-4700MQ that runs on 2.4GHz core speed, can reach up to 3.4GHz Turbo frequency, has 6MB L3 cache, and a 47W TDP. It also integrates the Intel HD Graphics 4600, which is more graphically powerful than the HD Graphics 4000.

The bad news is that the Optimus technology cannot be activated in this case due to the dual GPUs. That means that a switch cannot be made between the integrated and the dedicated graphics cards.

That’s a disadvantage because it means that battery life won’t last too long even when performing less demanding tasks. With moderation, it can achieve 3 hours of battery life. But it’s not exactly the lightest laptop since it weighs 6.4 pounds (2.9kg) so I don’t think that users will be carrying it around town too much.

The hardware system is completed by 16GB DDR3 RAM 1,600MHz and a hybrid storage space: 1TB 5400RPM mechanical hard drive plus 24GB SSD. Once you replace the mechanical hard drive with a SSD, responsiveness will be improved considerably.

Another con to be definitely included in my Lenovo IdeaPad Y510p review is that, mainly due to the SLI setup, the atmosphere tends to get hot. Under load, the hardware system will be hotter than it’s the case with most laptops. The bright side is that the performance is not affected and nothing gets slowed down.

There are plenty of laptops that belong to the ROG series, either 15 inch or 17 inch portables, but in my Asus Republic of Gamers review I am only going to talk about one particular model. The reason for that is simple: I will choose the laptop that best stands out from the crowd, which offers the best performances at the best cost.

I am referring to the Asus G750JW-DB71, which is among the latest additions to the series and thus it integrates a 4th generation Intel CPU, also known as Haswell chips. I am thrilled to see that ROG continues to be a name that keeps up with the latest releases in the technology world.

In what concerns this G750 gaming laptop, the case remains practically unchanged, only some minor changes being made in respect to including sharper edges and an all-black color for offering an increased level of visual appeal. Nonetheless, the same bulky design seems to welcome the viewer, but it’s also a sign of high-end performances and raw power. So the strong exterior design is a form of suggesting the cutting-edge hardware that is found under the hood.

The incorporated display measure 17.3 inches so this is a large gaming laptop. It’s a Full HD 1080p anti-glare panel with a really good picture and accurate color reproduction. Its performance outdoors is great also but I don’t think that you will be carrying the Asus G750JW-DB71 with you since it weighs 9.9 pounds (4.5kg). This laptop that I have chosen for my Asus Republic of Gamers review is one heavy beast for sure.

The keyboard has also undergone some changes. It’s a backlit Chiclet keyboard that also includes a numeric pad. The arrows keys have been separated from the other keys, being pushed lower, but they have been preserved in large size. It’s an aspect that pleases users. The quality of the keyboard is a plus and it’s great for those who type a lot. The touchpad has become even larger, which is nice and it’s easy to use and responsive. But it’s expected for gamers to more frequently use a mouse.

The main hardware piece that is responsible for the high-end performances is the 4th generation Intel Quad-Core i7-4700HQ CPU that runs on 2.4GHz core speed, on Turbo up to 3.4GHz frequency, and has 6MB L3 cache to share with the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600. This is a CPU capable of massive raw power. Check Price at Amazon

Other hardware components that have contributed to choosing the G750JW-DB71 as the model to be representative for my Asus Republic of Gamers review are: 12GB DDR3 RAM 1,600MHz plus one free slot, Nvidia GeForce GTX 765M is the dedicated GPU with 2GB GDDR5 video memory, 128bit memory interface, 768 CUDA cores, and 850MHz frequency, and the internal storage space is the one important con that can mentioned since this ROG gaming laptop integrates 1TB 5400RPM hard drive. The good news is that there is a free second bay for installing a SSD.

The central fact to be outlined in this Asus Republic of Gamers review is that Asus G750JW-DB71 is capable of playing most games on ultra-high settings, while more demanding ones will have to be reduced to medium-high or high settings for being smoothly played in Full HD resolution.

The two fans do their job pretty good thus avoiding for situations to become too hot or too noisy. Connectivity is ensured through 802.11ac Wi-Fi, keeping up with the latest standard, and making it one of the few laptops that offer it in their package, Bluetooth 4.0, and RJ45 LAN.

The featured connectors are: 4USB 3.0 ports, Thunderbolt port, HDMI and VGA outputs, SD card reader, and 2 audio jacks. That’s a complete list. The two built-in speakers are capable of quite a strong sound and it all becomes even better once you add the included subwoofer to the audio system.

Last but not least, the battery life is impressive as well, expecting to last between 3 to 5 hours on regular usage, which obviously does not include gaming activities.

There’s no better way to wrap up my Asus Republic of Gamers review than by saying that I truly recommend Asus G750JW-DB71 due to its amazing specs, high power, new features, and great price. Check Price at Amazon

All in ones AIOs are an evolution of the traditional desktops because the internal components are integrated in the same case with the display so these is a reduced compact form of the regular PCs. Thus, a smaller space is occupied on the desk and these are absolutely stunning devices.

However, with a smaller form compromises arise in terms of power, especially. There are few all in one desktops that have a discreet graphics card and in general their capabilities are limited. Moreover, upgrades are as limited as it is the case with laptops. When a consumer buys a traditional desktop he can be sure that the device will pass the test of time because he can get inside and upgrade the CPU or add a second GPU or simply replace the existent one with a more advanced video card or easily increase the memory. These are major advantages if the user needs a considerable amount of power in his or hers operations.

Desktops are addressed especially to power users and to gamers. The art of building your own machine from scratch is still pretty popular and the result can be an incredibly powerful PC built with on a reasonable budget. All in ones are targeting consumers who want stylish devices that have big displays, are capable of delivering satisfying performances, and in addition need just a keyboard and a mouse attached to them. At the same time, the targeted segments have a considerable budget at their disposal.

We have already established to which factors we can attribute the popularity of desktops but AIO PCs are gaining on popularity due to their ascending path in matters of innovation. Nowadays, Windows 8 is the operating system on which they run and, as it happened to laptops, touch displays are becoming more and more frequently incorporated.

Besides benefiting from a touchscreen that integrates all the system’s internal components, a new usage mode is included by some manufacturers – using the all in one as a giant tablet. It becomes a device perfect for spending family time gathered around the big slide and it is also advertised as a gadget perfect for business and for team work. Even portability has been achieved since there is an available model that weighs only 4.85 pounds (2.2kg). You can sit comfortably with it on your lap.

All in Ones promise a great future full of innovations but even so desktops have an important role to play in the lives of those who need top performances for applications or games so the conclusion would be that we end up desiring models from each category in order to ensure that all our needs are completely covered.

When buying a laptop or, for that matter, when buying anything at all, our decisions are influenced by one fixed variable: our budget. Therefore this laptop buying guide is centered at offering readers the information they need in order to get the best device for their budget, which can be also simply expressed as the best bang for the buck.

Nowadays, a laptop under $1,000 is a truly remarkable one. In this price range you can either get an ultra-portable that comes with an i5 Processor and a SSD or a hybrid hard drive (mechanical hard drive plus solid state drive) and the model can even have a touchscreen, as it is the trend for a while now. It’s the perfect way to go for students who need their laptop with them all the time or for those who travel constantly and want to get some work done on the road. If you want something really thin and light, you can also opt for a convertible laptop. Most of the models are still pretty expensive but if you scan the electronics market, you will be able to discover amazing models that don’t exceed the $1,000 price tag.

The second alternative is that in the $1,000 price range you can buy a laptop that weighs a little more (for example a 15-inch one that weighs 5 pounds, which is portable for me) but this machine will come with great raw power under the hood. If you need more power in your daily operations (video editing, marketing activities, photos editing etc.) then you can surely find a device that is capable of satisfying your needs, without being forced to spend an enormous amount of money. So, get a full HD display, a powerful CPU something like the Quad-Core i7-3630QM, a dedicated GPU not integrated one, and make sure to have a pretty good keyboard. With such specs, it’s also appropriate for gaming. These would be the main specs that have to be checked out.

Passionate hardcore gamers that want an alternative to their desktops, who want something that can be taken to LAN parties are more than aware that a budget in the range of $2,000 is more appropriate for them.

Also, if you are a more demanding consumer who wants power, touch display, high-end specs, SSD instead of HDD, long battery life and all these components to be wrapped up in a slim beautiful chassis, a budget of $1,500 is to be desired in this situation.

All in all, a laptop buying guide should simply transmit the following: a regular normal user doesn’t need a big budget to get the best device for him and his needs so thoroughly analyze your needs and get the laptop that is capable of accomplishing them at a reasonable price.

Anker gaming mouse also known as High Precision Laser Gaming Mouse is a downright impressive peripheral. You will be able to easily notice how amazing this mouse is, only by reading about the specs. Moreover, what I also like about the Anker High Precision Laser Gaming Mouse is its affordable price.

At the moment, the selling price is a great advantage because this mouse designed especially for gamers becomes a real bargain. I find it one of the cheapest and one of the best laser mice. And it’s a beautiful model, as well.

The Anker high precision laser mouse for gaming has a wonderful design for firmly gripping it during battles and the curve was shaped to maintain the comfort for hours and hours in a row. Therefore, comfortable is definitely a key word for this peripheral. The Anker logo looks wonderful and the color can be changed through the provided software so blue is not the only option, as presented in all images and advertisements.

Moreover, the incorporated weight, 8 pieces of them, can be customized so no one can blame the mouse for not getting to the next level. Another customization is related to the 9 programmable buttons, very well placed. These are highly important and are suited for any kind of game. You will know what to do it them.

There’s something I really love about this Anker product. It comes with MACRO functionality, which records your movements and clicks. There are also two mouse profiles and the switching is made through a button located at the basis of this High Precision Laser Gaming Mouse by Anker. Check Price at Amazon

Speaking about great specs, I will start with the 8000 DPI and the 1000Hz polling rate because this is the piece of information that really raises the interest about this laser gaming mouse. The 8000 DPI means incredibly high accurate precision. Precision is what recommends this Anker gaming mouse. For this attribute, it is among top contenders and its price should be the spec that wins the battle in favor of Anker. If the 8000 DPI is too much for someone, if it seems too sensitive then users have at their disposal 4 adjustable DPI profiles. So, for example, one can lower it to 5600 DPI.

The sensitivity, the precision, the smooth tracking, the lack of lags, the lack of input lags these are features that stand out so this makes for one outstanding mouse that can pass any test with flying colors. Anker Gaming Mouse High Precision Laser Gaming Mouse is an excellent device, there’s nothing better in this price range and you certainly get more than what you’ve paid for so the bottom line is that any gamer should own such a close to perfection beauty. Check Price at Amazon

When looking to buy a laptop, one of the specs to be highly taken into consideration is the CPU because it directly determines the value you get for your money and it also influences for how many years the respective machine will be able to keep up with the appearing apps and software so that leads us to looking for the best laptop Processor for a respective price range or looking for the best CPU that will satisfy your demands.

If we are talking about Intel, we have the following three categories: i3, i5, and i7, each with its respective models. It’s generally considered that the i3 laptops are for value buyers and their price tag won’t exceed the $600 limit. The i5 ones are for mainstream users and the i7 powered portable devices are for technology lovers, for gamers, for professionals in the editing, production, marketing, and so on industries. The Pentium ones were left out for low budget devices, like laptops under $300.

When it comes to the best laptop Processor, the analyzed factors are: the number of cores, the core speed (the higher the better), the Turbo frequency (i3 chips lack the Turbo speed), the number of threads, third generation Ivy Bridge are always the best ones, the cache amount, and last but not least the TDP (thermal design power).

The TDP is the power per watt and, when it comes to laptops, which are basically machines that don’t have too much space for a state of the art cooling system, the power per watt is more important than the actual power. The higher the TDP the more heat the machine has to dissipate or the respective notebook will throttle and shut down. Also, when the TDP is high the battery life must be considerably bigger, for reaching acceptable performances in this department.

The TDPs for Intel mobile chips (M) is comprised between 25W and 45W, while the numbers for the ultramobile chips (U, UM) that are found in ultrabooks especially, start from 17W downwards.

Before seeing some actual examples for the best laptop CPU and, implicitly, seeing which manufacturers have chosen the respective Processor and in which notebooks we can find it, I would like to say that the Processor and its performances are strongly related to other two specs: memory amount and internal storage space, nowadays the best one is represented by Solid State Drives (SSDs). The CPU also greatly helps the graphics card (GPU) in delivering top graphic performances and the desired fps.

Best Laptop Processor 2013

Intel Dual-Core i3-3120M is a top pick when it comes to laptops powered by i3 chips. This is a rather powerful spec, it has 2 cores, 4 threads, 2.5GHz core speed which is really good so it compensates for the lack of Turbo Boost, 3MB L3 cache to share with the Intel HD Graphics 4000 the integrated GPU, and it has a Max TDP of 35W. I really like this chip for those who are looking for performing day to day tasks on a budget device. This is a best laptop Processor for the i3 category. Regarding a notebook that incorporates the i3-3120M, the best bang for the buck is obtained if you decide to get the Toshiba Satellite C855-S5137.

Intel Dual-Core i3-3227U was not yet launched as a Processor but it is incorporated by a number of ultrabooks and the most exciting of all is the HP Elitebook Revolve 810, which is a hybrid, being used as a tablet and as a fully functional laptop. This i3 model is the best laptop Processor for ultraportable devices. When it comes to ultrabooks incorporating i3 chips, the affordable price range no longer applies, since these light and ultraportable devices are still pretty highly priced for the average consumer and the price goes even higher when it comes to convertible laptops, like this Elitebook Revolve 810. The i3-3227U has the following characteristics: 2 cores, 4 threads, a really good clock speed of 1.9GHz, no Turbo function, 3MB L3 cache shared with the GPU Intel HD 4000, and a Max TDP of 17W because this an ultramobile chip (U). So the most exciting device that incorporates the Dual-Core i3-3227U is the HP ELITEBOOK REVOLVE 810.

Intel Dual-Core i5-3230M is highly appropriate for mainstream laptops that have an appropriate price and pack additional powerful specs, which ensures them keeping up with the coming years. The technical details for the Dual-Core i5-3230M are: 2 cores, 4 threads, an impressive 2.6GHz core speed, up to 3.2GHz Turbo speed, 3MB L3 cache, and Max TDP of 35W. My favorite model that incorporates this best laptop Processor for the i5 category and that is at the same time a nicely priced device that can also play almost any game is MSI GE60 0NC-498US.

Intel Dual-Core i5-3337U is another ultramobile CPU so it is incorporated by lightweight notebooks or ultrabooks. The characteristics for the i5-3337U are: 2 cores, 4 threads, 1.8GHz core speed, up to 2.7GHz Turbo frequency, 3MB L3 shared cache with the Intel 4000, and Max TDP of 17W. There are a number of models out there, with touchscreen or without the touch function, but the one that offers the best value for the paid price is Acer M5-481PT-6644.

Intel Quad-Core i7-3630QM is the most frequently encountered CPU when it comes to expensive very powerful laptops that can battle any software or application, like demanding games. The characteristics for the i7-3630QM are: 4 cores, 8 threads, 2.4GHz core speed, up to 3.4GHz on Turbo, 6MB L3 cache, and a Max TDP of 45W. There are so many spectacular models, really powerful ones that incorporate this best laptop Processor when it comes to i7 chips so it’s hard to choose one. However, I consider that the one that balances the rapport between price tag, specs and quality is Lenovo IdeaPad Y500.

Intel Dual-Core i7-3537U belongs to the i7 category but, as the letter U tells us, this is a chip incorporated by the ultraportable devices, by ultrabooks and convertible laptops so you should expect for higher price tags. One might think that there are not a lot of options when it comes to finding a best laptop under 300 but there are some pretty good options for those who want a cheaper device for daily activities and usage that comprises browsing, movies and video watching, social networking interactions, documents creation and editing, etc.

Best Laptop Under 300 2013

Samsung Chromebook – chromebooks are a cheap alternative to conventional laptops for those who want a second device, mostly used during travels due to their light weight, long battery life, and good specs that offer just the amount of speed needed by the operations supported by these devices. Samsung Chromebook is a best laptop under 300 that runs on Chrome OS, an operating system based on a browser. So everything is handled through this browser and the apps are obtained from the Chrome Web Store.

Most frequently used apps are Hangouts, YouTube, Gmail, Search, Zoho, Google Docs, SlideRocket, Aviary and Creative Kitso you have entertainment, gaming, editing, work and social media related activities. Obviously, chromebooks have certain limitations because users cannot install any software they want, just like that but for this affordable price, the Samsung Chromebook alongside the Acer C7 Chromebook, ae both worth it.

The Samsung Chromebook specs are: 11.6 inches display with HD resolution (1366 x 768 pixels), ARM-based Dual-Core Exynos 5200 CPU running on 1.7GHz with no fans incorporated, 2GB DRR3 RAM, 16GB internal storage space plus 100GB free for two years space on Google Drive, dual band Wi-Fi (both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands), Bluetooth, 1 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, webcam, wakes up in under 10 seconds, a great keyboard, no anti-virus needed, has an average battery life of 6.5 hours, and weighs 2.4 pounds (1kg). There is no Ethernet port featured so this will be the con. Check price at Amazon

Acer C7 Chromebook is another best laptop under 300 that runs on Chrome OS. If you want a chromebook but are in between choices, between these two models, I will make a comparison between them to make the choice easier.

The incorporated display is the same 11-inch HD resolution but when it comes to design the Acer C7 resembles more to a traditional laptop. The keyboard is not as great as the one featured by the Samsung model and the battery life is much shorter – 3.5 hours on average. On the other hand, this one is a bit cheaper. It’s also faster and more powerful due to the Dual-Core Phenom CPU with 1.1GHz core speed. The memory is the same, 2GB DDR3 RAM.

Acer C7 Chromebook has an enormous internal storage space of 320GB 5400RPM HDD, which seems to be too much for a non-traditional best laptop under $300. However, the thing is that this Chromebook from Acer can be run on other operating system, besides the Chrome OS. So it can become a tiny traditional notebook, if users want to.

As connectors, it features 2 USB 2.0 ports, no USB 3.0 port, SD card reader, HDMI and VGA outputs, Ethernet port, and 1 audio jack. The connectivity options include the same dual band Wi-Fi but no Bluetooth. Therefore, the area of connectors is richer in the Acer Chromebook even though it doesn’t come with Bluetooth. It wakes up in 20 seconds but the overall performance can be improved by replacing the mechanical HDD with a SSD. It weighs just a little more, 3 pounds (1.36kg).

Acer C7 Chromebook has its downsides but on the plus side, it’s faster, nicely built, equipped as a traditional notebook and it offers the option of being transformed into one by running a different OS instead of Chrome.  Check Price at Amazon

Acer AO725-0687 is the last candidate for a best laptop under 300, this time a netbook running on Windows 8. Even though it has a 11.6 inches display, HD resolution, there are users who get this as their day to day laptop and the second category of consumers get it as an alternative device, just great for travels and taking it around since it weighs only 2.65 pounds (1.2kg).

The specs for the AO725-0687 are: Dual-Core AMD C-70 Processor that runs on 1GHz and has 1MB L2 cache to share with the ATI Radeon HD 6290, the integrated graphics card, packs 2GB DDR3 RAM and the good news is that the memory is upgradeable up to 4GB if you want some extra speed, and it has 320GB 5400RPM internal storage space.

Acer AO725-0687 is not incredibly fast but there are rooms for improvement and upgrades so it’s a great little device for web browsing, getting some work done, watching movies, and so on. The connectors are plenty: 1 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports, SD card reader, VGA and HDMI outputs, RJ-45, and 2 audio jacks. The connectivity options include 802.11N wireless and Ethernet port, no Wi-Fi. One of the best parts about it is the long battery life, up to 5.7 hours.

Acer AO725-0687 offers exactly what you are paying for. It’s a reliable machine with a pretty good keyboard, nice design, nice good screen, fast enough, with possibilities for upgrades, ultra-portable since it’s an 11 inch laptop, and it has long battery life. It’s a best laptop under 300 and a perfect choice for such low budget. Check Price at Amazon

There’s no better way for starting a review, a Lenovo IdeaPad U310 review, than by saying that this is a very affordable touchscreen laptop. It can also be named an ultrabook since it is 0.71 inches thin so even by now you can expect it to be a lightweight laptop, an ultra-portable device that is capable of developing a considerable amount of power, the amount of power and performances needed for carrying on daily activities.

This IdeaPad U310 review addresses the average consumer who might want this ultrabook for several reasons: either as a secondary ultra-portable laptop that can be taken on travels and can be carried around town without much effort, it can perfectly be an affordable laptop for students, it’s great for those who want to own a touch notebook without overspending, and all in all it’s a highly appropriate budget touchscreen ultrabook.

  • Lenovo U310 incorporates a 13.3 inches 10-point multi-touch display with HD resolution (1366 x 768 pixels).
  • It runs on Windows 8, thus the incorporation of a touch panel.
  • The hardware system is governed by the power released by the Dual-Core i5-3337U Processor that runs on 1.8GHz core speed, can reach up to 2.7GHz as Turbo frequency, and has 3MB L3 cache to share with the integrated graphics card.
  • Intel HD Graphics 4000 is the GPU, an integrated one, not discrete, which means that only light gaming and light editing activities can be engaged into, not at professional level.
  • Under the hood, it also packs 4GB DDR3 RAM, which are enough for day to day tasks. As said from the beginning of this Lenovo IdeaPad U310 review, this is not a power house but instead it’s solidly built, it will feel like a feather if you compare it to an older laptop and it even has a touch display, all this in a package that is very nicely priced.
  • As usual for ultrabooks situated in this price range, the storage space is a hybrid: 500GB 5400RPM mechanical HDD plus 24GB SSD.
  • The keyboard is perfect for long hours of typing without making too many errors, not backlit, and it has nicely spaced keys even though this is a 13 inch laptop.
  • There should be no Lenovo IdeaPad U310 review without mentioning the many connectivity options: 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, WiDi technology support, and Ethernet port.
  • The featured connectors are: inly 1 USB 3.0 port and 2 USB 2.0 ports, SD card reader, HDMI output, and audio jack. It also features a 720p HD webcam. There is, as expected, no optical drive incorporated.
  • The battery life is said to last up to 7 hours but I believe that the real number is 6 hours on average battery life, which, I consider it to be, a strong battery life and a pro for the IdeaPad U310.
  • Lenovo IdeaPad U310 weighs only 3.7 pounds (1.7kg) and that’s indeed ultra-portable.

This is a best laptop under $600 and it surely offers everything you pay for and maybe even a little more. So, based on this Lenovo IdeaPad U310 review, what more reasons could potential customers need for choosing the Lenovo U310 as their primary or secondary device? Check Price at Amazon

This Acer Iconia Tab A110 review should bring into customers’ attention a highly affordable and very nicely performing 7 inch tablet. Gadgets like these shouldn’t be overlooked by the average consumer because it brings great value for its price.

  • The Iconia Tab A110 has a 7 inch display with 1024 x 600 pixels resolution. It’s not a brilliant screen but it’s still an accurate one, that records commands without lags, and a very good one for reading, playing Android games, running different apps, and watching movies.
  • Runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
  • It has an Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad-Core Processor, running on 1.2GHz so this slide is pretty fast and very responsive.
  • The 1GB DDR3 memory is enough for running everything there is out there.
  • The internal storage space for the Acer Iconia Tab A110 amounts to 8GB and the greatest part is that it can be upgraded by up to 32GB through the microSD card slot.
  • The featured connectivity options are 802.11N Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  • The connectors are one of the main attraction points when it comes to this Acer Iconia Tab A110 review: micro HDMI output 1080p support, micro USB 2.0 port, and microSD card slot.
  • Also features GPS.
  • The major con against the Tab A110 is the lack of a rear facing camera, the only available one being the 2MP front camera that can only be used for chatting on Skype.
  • Acer Iconia Tab A110 will last 7.5 hours battery life on average, which is not as much as 10 hours obviously, but it’s still a great performance at a very good price.
  • It’s not the lightest either, as compared with its competitors. It weighs 0.85 pounds (385grams) so it can be carried all day long without even feeling it.

When making an Acer Iconia Tab A110 review, no one can help but compare with the Nexus 7 because there is not a big difference in price between these two 7 inch tablets. The most debated spec was the screen resolution, which is higher for the N7 – 1280×800 pixels as opposed to 1024 x 600 pixels. However, the biggest advantages for the Iconia Tab A110 are: micro HDMI output and MicroSD slot for upgrading the storage space.

Those being said, there is nothing more left for me to say than that I totally recommend the Acer Iconia Tab A110 with the occasion of this review because I find it to be rightfully priced, offering everything you pay for and it will become the 7 inch tablet that you constantly carry with you. Check Price at Amazon

Dell Inspiron One 2330 io2330-5909BK strikes as a balance between the right combination of specs, which offer a pretty high amount of power, and between price range. This is a beautiful all in one computer and, following the latest trends, it incorporates a touch display. The Inspiron One 2330 is indeed a beautiful and rightfully priced choice for those who want a touch AIO.

  • It incorporates a 23-inch multi-touch display with Full HD 1080p quality. Great responsiveness in what regards the touch inputs and beautiful 1080p resolution for making everything look better.
  • It runs, as expected, on Windows 8.
  • The heart of the hardware system is the powerful Quad-Core i5-3330s Processor. It runs on 2.7GHz clock speed which is more than enough power for any app and software, up to 3.2GHz as Turbo frequency, and has 6MB L3 cache to share with the integrated graphics card.
  • Dell Inspiron One 2330 packs an enough amount of memory – 8GB DDR3 RAM 1,600MHz, not upgradeable.
  • The GPU is Intel HD Graphics 4000, an integrated graphics card so users can only engage in light gaming activities.
  • The offered storage space is more than enough anyone could need and use in a lifetime. It packs 2TB 7200RPM hard drive. Being a 7200RPM mechanical HDD, the performances will be top-notch, which won’t make you crave for a SSD.
  • The Inspiron One 2330  touch AIO desktop also packs an optical drive, 8X DVD+RW, built-in 5.1 speakers that produce an impressive audio quality, and it comes with Dell wireless keyboard and mouse.
  • As connectors, it features: 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI and VGA inputs, SD card reader, RJ-45 port, and audio jacks.
  • The connectivity is ensured though 802.11N wireless, Bluetooth, Ethernet port, and WiDi.

From my point of view, Dell Inspiron One 2330 is a best touchscreen desktop, it’s a very well built AIO with an affordable price tag and a touch display as a bonus so for general day to day usage, I totally recommend the Inspiron One 2330. Check Price at Amazon

A best IPS monitor for gaming has its advantages but one drawback, as well. Firstly, the image quality is visibly improved. The colors are vivid and vibrant, which is a major advantage in this field. Moreover, the IPS technology is mostly recognized for offering wider viewing angles.

The drawback is that these monitors have worse response time and slower refresh rate. The TN panels have the fastest response time, one clear example being Asus VG278HE, an expensive panel TN panel created especially for professional hardcore gamers, with an amazing response time of 2ms. That doesn’t mean that ghosting appears in the case of In-Plane Switching technology, at least not in certain models.

There are two main standards used nowadays in the manufacturing process: E-IPS created in 2009 and AH-IPS, recently created in 2011 and thus more advanced and it increases the overall cost.

Best IPS Monitor for Gaming 2013

ASUS VS239H-P is a 23-inch IPS LED-BACKLIT Full HD monitor. It was not especially designed for gamers but if you are on a tight budget, under $200, then this is the choice you ought to make because there is as little ghosting as possible. Firstly, there is the Trace free feature that makes possible for such a low-budget device to achieve the performance of almost any ghosting. Secondly, the 5ms response time (G2G) makes the ASUS VS239H-P a great candidate for the best IPS monitor for gaming.

The VS239H-P is very sleek and thin, it will look wonderful on the desk and the anti-glare coating, matte panel, might be exactly what some potential customers are looking for. The refresh rate is 60Hz, which is the standard value in the case of IPS technology, the dynamic contrast ratio has a high value of 50mil:1, and the brightness is 250 cd/m2. As connectors, it features HDMI, D-Sub, and DVI-D inputs.

The con against this Asus device is the lack of ergonomic options. Otherwise, this is a bargain and ASUS VS239H-P reproduces vivid vibrant colors, setting just the right mood and performances for top-notch gaming. Check Price at Amazon

ASUS PA248Q – I am aware that I introduce to you two candidates for the best IPS monitor for gaming from the same manufacturer but I just have to talk about the PA248Q because it’s a great bargain. Whether you are thinking about free of ghosting gaming or about general use or about professional editing, this 24-inch LED-backlit IPS monitor is the answer to all needs. And everything at a highly convenient price, much less than I would expect for such colors, image quality, and built-in quality.

There will be no problems related to dead pixels, the colors are beautifully brilliant, calibrated or not the image is vibrant and it’s showing the details that gamers need for being totally immersed and aware of everything that is taking place in the game. The response time is 6ms so that’s a pretty good value and an important reason for choosing the ASUS PA248Q as a best IPS monitor for gaming. DVI, VGA, HDMI, and DisplayPort inputs plus an impressive amount of 4 USB 3.0 ports are the connectors. Moreover, all the ergonomic options are offered to users: tilt, height, swivel, and pivot.

Standard, sRGB, Scenery Mode, Theater Mode, plus two additional modes for buyers to personalize them are the preset modes. Furthermore, the OSD menu has plenty of settings. There’s really nothing wrong about this IPS device, nothing was overlooked and even though it wasn’t designed solely for gaming, it’s a tempting, wonderful, best bang for the buck choice. Check Price at Amazon

Eizo FORIS FS2333 – at the moment, it can be safely said that this is the best IPS monitor for gaming. Not a lot of people have heard of this manufacturer, thus certain reluctance arises, which shouldn’t be the case if you want something close to perfection. Another motive that might make potential customers question the impressive performances that the FORIS FS2333 is capable of, is the exterior design. It might not be the most appealing and sleek of devices but it’s the fastest IPS monitor for gaming and that’s the feature that primes.

This is a 23-inch IPS LED-backlit Full HD (1080p) display, 16: 9 aspect ratio. The response time is 3.4ms (Grey to Grey) but the actual number that counts, the real response time is around 8ms. The ergonomic features include tilt, height, and swivel. The OSD settings allow users to get the image that most pleases their eye and there is even a remote control included for the OSD menu. The colors are indeed amazing, as vibrant and as vivid as gamers need. It also comes with seven preset modes: ECO, User1, User2, sRGB, Paper, Game, Cinema. The connectors featured by the FORIS FS2333 include 2 HDMI, DVI-D, and D-Sub inputs.

Another feature that was conceived with dedication for gamers is the Smart Insight that allows for the accurate picturing of the smallest details. The price is pretty high, even so the Eizo FORIS FS2333 is a best IPS monitor for gaming under $500, and it’s worth every penny if you want top-notch professional performances during gaming on an IPS panel that shows no ghosting at all. Check Price at Amazon

Is there a better deal in the desktop market than the ASUS CM6870-US014S? The answer is no. This desktop has top-notch specs and it’s sold at an affordable price. There are no terms of comparison in what regards the rapport between price, specs, and quality.

When it comes to desktops, there is a frequent thing that is being said: if I were to build it myself, it would be a lot cheaper. And there are models to which this saying turns out to be entirely true. But that’s not the case with the CM6870-US014S and that’s what I completely love about this desktop, aside from the massive power that it’s capable of developing. Let’s see some specs for this best gaming PC under $1,000.

  • Being recently launched, it runs on Windows 8.
  • As expected, the hardware system is run by a Quad-Core i7-3770 Processor, 8 threads, runs on 3.4GHz core speed, up to 3.9GHz Turbo frequency, and has 8MB L3 cache. This is a very fast CPU so users won’t be forced to replace it too soon for fear to become outdated.
  • In what regards the packed amount of memory, ASUS CM6870-US014S has more than anyone could need at the time being but once again it saves owners the trouble of upgrading it in the future. It integrates 32GB DDR3 RAM 1,600MHz.
  • As a gaming rig and as a professional desktop for people working in the editing, video creation, movie production fields and so on, this Asus will work beautifully and brilliantly. It comes with Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 graphics card with 1GB GDDR5 video memory. It’s a pretty fast GPU and even if it’s not enough powerful for you, replacing it should not be too hard.
  • The CM6870-US014S also offers 1TB 7200RPM internal storage space.
  • The PSU (power supply) produces 300W so if you were to replace the GTX 650 with a more powerful graphics card, you might also need to get a PSU that produces more energy but that’s not expensive at all.
  • ASUS CM6870-US014S has more than enough connectors. The front features 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports, SD card reader, and 2 audio jacks. The back has: 2 USB 3.0 and 4 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, VGA, and DVI outputs, RJ-45 port, and 8 channel Audio I/O.
  • The connectivity options are limited to Ethernet port, no Wi-Fi connection possible in this factory form.
  • It also comes with 24x DVD-RW as optical drive.

ASUS CM6870-US014S is a rather plain looking desktop but the inside is so beautiful and it comes at such a great price, that it’s hard to resist to such a nicely built machined that is perfectly suited for any task and working field. Check Price at Amazon

Lenovo IdeaCentre C540 is a cheap all in on desktop, it’s a nicely performing desktop that looks beautifully on a desk and saves up a lot of space, at the same time. This Lenovo AIO impresses through its low price, nicely correlated specs with the price tag, and the ability to perform daily tasks without any lags. It’s not a power house or a gaming rig but it’s more than anyone can expect for the $500 price range. So I believe it to be worth it every penny and I am all about high praises when it comes to the IdeaCentre C540.

  • It has a beautiful 23-inch Full HD display. It’s impressive that 1080p resolution is made available to buyers at a reasonable price. The beautiful big display is one of the main attraction points and a very big pro for this all in one desktop.
  • As I already said, Lenovo IdeaCentre C540 is not a powerful all in one and testimony to that is the Intel Pentium Dual-Core G2020 Processor that runs on 2.9GHZ core speed and has 3MB L3 cache. It’s not unbelievably powerful but daily operations and even multitasking, to some extent, will work fast and beautifully.
  • 4GB DDR3 RAM 1,333MHz.
  • Intel HD Graphics is the integrated graphics card for the IdeaCentre C540 allowing for light gaming and editing activities.
  • Impressive 1TB 7200RPM storage space. The 7200RPM mechanical hard drive is a great addition.
  • When it comes to connectors, I should mention that one con is the lack of any USB 3.0 ports. Instead it packs a nice quantity of USB 2.0 ports, more exactly 6 of them. Additional featured connectors by the Lenovo IdeaCentre C540 are: SD card reader, HDMI, and 2 audio jacks.
  • It comes with Integrated DVD reader/writer drive, built-in speakers, and 720p webcam.
  • The connectivity is ensured through 802.11N wireless and Ethernet port. No Bluetooth.

Lenovo IdeaCentre C540 is the perfect all in one desktop for the average consumer, who doesn’t need a considerable amount of raw power and thus should keep things as affordable as this AIO is, with the acceptance of making minor compromises that don’t affect the built-in quality and the performances on the long term. Check Price at Amazon

The first important information that must be said when it comes to the Asus Transformer AIO P1801 is that it’s a hybrid. This Asus All in One touchscreen computer can also be used as a giant tablet. There are many users who find this function quite practical and exciting. Another important feature, especially from my point of view, is the price. In this case, I am happy to say that the price tag is correlated with performances, specs, and built-in quality.

  • Firstly, there are two operating systems. There is Windows 8 for the desktop mode and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, with rather soon updates for the 4.2 version, for the slide mode. Therefore, the Transformer AiO P1801 is the first one of its kind. There is also Dell XPS 18 that is a hybrid as well, serving as desktop and tablet, but in this case we are talking about a sole operating system for the two modes, that naturally being Windows 8.
  • The display measures 18.4 inches and it has Full HD resolution. Plus the IPS technology was used in manufacturing the panel. That means better and greater viewing angles so this hybrid Asus All in One touchscreen computer P1801 can be used by an entire team in the work environment or as a big entertainment tablet by the entire family.
  • There are not only two OSs but two Processors as well. One is the amazingly powerful and fast Intel Quad-Core i5-3350P CPU, running on 3.1GHz core speed, up to 3.3GHz on Turbo, and has 6MB L3 cache to share with the Intel HD Graphics 4000, the integrated graphics card. The second CPU is Nvidia Tegra 3. I assume that you understand which Processor serves which mode, namely desktop and tablet.
  • The memory is represented by 8GB DDR3 1,600MHz RAM. Multitasking is possible without lags.
  • ASUS Transformer AiO P1801 also comes with a dedicated graphics card, besides the Intel 4000 integrated GPU. The dedicated one is the middle class Nvidia GeForce GT 730M that has 2GB DDR3 video memory. It is powerful enough to run all modern games, even though some more demanding will be played on medium to low settings, especially bringing the Full HD resolution into the equation. All in all, extensive gaming is possible, which is an amazing thing, and professional editing and graphic activities will be handled beautifully by this high-end hardware system.
  • The desktop mode is allocated with 1TB 7200RPM internal storage space, while for the tablet mode there is 32GB SSD made available.
  • The available connectivity options for the ASUS Transformer AiO P1801 are: 802.11b/g/n dual-band Wi-Fi, working on both the 2.4GHz frequency band and the 5GHz band, Bluetooth, and RJ-45 LAN (Ethernet port).
  • As connectors, it features: 4 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, SD card reader, HDMI, Kensington Lock, and 2 audio headphone and microphone jacks. These are the connectors for the desktop mode. Furthermore, the connectors for the slide more are: microSD slot for upgrading the storage space (the internal one amounts to 32GB), microUSB 2.0 port, and 1 audio jack
  • Among these specs, I should also mention the 1MP camera and the built-in speakers, 2 for the desktop and 2 for the tablet, that manage to produce quite an impressive audio quality.
  • The P1801 Asus All in One touchscreen computer weighs 5.3 pounds (2.4kg) so it’s portable if you want to take it your friends’ house or to the work place, just to brag about it.
  • As a tablet, it will last up to 5 hours on battery, which is a great performance.

I believe that Asus Transformer AIO P1801 is an exciting hybrid and sure users will end up using it as a touch desktop more than as a big slide but its high performances and capabilities only make me impatiently wait for what comes next. Check Price at Amazon

Acer Aspire V3-551G-X419 is one of the most affordable machines for gaming so it’s for sure a cheap gaming laptop that it’s also capable of playing most modern games on medium to low settings. It’s not easy finding a laptop under $600 that has a dedicated GPU but the V3-551G-X419 is one of those special cheap devices that a gamer on a budget must have.

The Aspire V3-551G-X419 incorporates a 15.6 inches HD ((1366 x 768) pixels) LED-backlit display. It is powered by the Quad-Core AMD A10-4600M that runs on 2.3GHz core speed, reaches up to 3.2GHz on Turbo, and has the AMD Radeon HD 7660G as integrated GPU. The dedicated graphics card, the one that truly matters is AMD Radeon 7670M, a middle class GPU with 2GB DDDR3 video memory. Users will be able to enjoy most modern games once some tweaks are performed.

As part of the hardware system, we also have 6GB DDR3 RAM and 750GB 5400RPM HDD as storage space. Moreover, the Aspire V3-551G-X419 incorporates an 8X DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer Drive, great audio performances thanks to Dolby Audio technology, and it features a 1.3MP camera. For connectivity and in what regards connectors, everything is in place: 802.11N wireless, Bluetooth, Ethernet port, 1 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, SD card reader, and audio jack.

This very affordable laptop from Acer will last up to 5 hours on battery but when gaming, the battery life will be drastically reduced. It weighs 5.74 pounds (2.6kg) so it’s not exactly portable but that’s not the main spec that counts when it comes to gaming rigs. All that is to be said once more about the Acer Aspire V3-551G-X419 is that this is a fantastic cheap gaming laptop that it’s capable of delivering raw power and high graphic performances. The only con would be that it gets hot so you need to get a cooling pad. Check Price at Amazon

MSI CX61 0NF-258US is another example of a great cheap gaming laptop, this time in the price range of $800. It will allow users to play modern games while the more intensive graphic ones will need some tweaks for running without lags. In order to keep it powerful, as time passes, you can increase the memory as well as replace the mechanical hard drive with a SSD. The upgrades will void the warranty so you might want to wait for a year.

This CX61 model also integrates a 15.6-inch HD (1366 x 768 pixels) display. The HD resolution is an advantage in this case because the middle class dedicated graphics card can deliver the expected fps more easily. The dedicated GPU for this system is Nvidia GeForce GT 645M, having 2GB DDR3 video memory.

In its performances, it is very much helped by the powerful Quad-Core i7-3630QM CPU that runs on 2.4GHz clockspeed, up to 3.4GHz Turbo frequency, and has 6MB L3 cache to share with the Intel 4000, integrated GPU. The hardware system is completed by 6GB DDR3 RAM, upgradeable up to 16GB memory, and 750 5400RPM hard drive as internal storage space.

MSI CX61 0NF-258US weighs 5.3 pounds (2.4kg), which is considered portable when it comes to gaming rigs. The keyboard is not backlit but it is full size, comes with numeric pad, and it’s of good quality for long hours of typing. Moreover, all connectors and connectivity options are in place plus DVD SuperMulti as optical drive. All in all, the CX61 0NF-258US is a cheap gaming laptop that brings great value and it righteously deserves every penny you spend. Check Price at Amazon

Acer Aspire V3-771G-9441 is just a little more expensive than the above model but this is a complete power beast and a cheap gaming laptop, from my point of view. This is a rather big laptop and it can even serve as a desktop replacement. It’s an amazing gaming laptop under $1,000 and it delivers much more than what you pay for so if the budget is met, go for it.

It packs a 17.3 inches display and the best part is that the panel has Full HD 1080p resolution. It’s a great performance for this price range so a great advantage. When it comes to specs, the list is started by the Quad-Core i7-3630QM, the same Processor as the one integrated in the above MSI model, running on 2.4GHz core frequency, up to 3.4GH Turbo, and 6MB L3 cache. It also comes with 8GB DDR3 RAM and the good news is that upgrades are more than possible up to 16GB memory.

At this price range, it’s not expected for the Acer Aspire V3-771G-9441 to have under the hood a GTX GPU and indeed it doesn’t. It packs a middle class Nvidia GeForce GT 730M but this graphics card has 4GB DDR3 video memory so it’s pretty powerful. However, for demanding games users will have to lower resolution from Full HD to 1366×768 pixels and in order to achieve the needed fps rates, medium settings are in place for really demanding modern games.

The V3-771G-9441 doesn’t have a backlit keyboard but the tying quality is above average and it also has a numeric pad. It features an 8X DVD-Super Multi Double-Layer Drive and given its size, 17-inch display, it weighs a little more than the above models – 7.05 pounds (3.2kg). The connectivity is ensured through Bluetooth, 802.11N Wi-Fi, and RJ-45 port. As connectors, it features 2 USB 3.0 and 2 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI output, SD card reader, and 2 audio jacks. I truly believe that Acer Aspire V3-771G-9441 is an impressive powerful device and it should be a top choice when it comes to shopping for a cheap gaming laptop that can play everything. Acer M5-481PT-6644 Touchscreen Ultrabook Specs http://bestgaminglaptopreviews.net/acer-m5-481pt-6644-touchscreen-ultrabook-specs/ http://bestgaminglaptopreviews.net/acer-m5-481pt-6644-touchscreen-ultrabook-specs/#comments Tue, 23 Apr 2013 20:52:34 +0000 http://bestgaminglaptopreviews.net/?p=2605  Acer M5 was initially among the first ultrabooks to be launched and one of the first ones that was able to produce a fair amount of power while being sold for an affordable price and now, through the adding of a touchscreen, for keeping up with the trends, has resulted the Acer M5-481PT-6644.  Acer M5 was initially among the first ultrabooks to be launched and one of the first ones that was able to produce a fair amount of power while being sold for an affordable price and now, through the adding of a touchscreen, for keeping up with the trends, has resulted the Acer M5-481PT-6644. Just as its predecessor, the new M5 is also affordable. It’s a great touchscreen laptop for those on a tighter budget.

  • Integrates a 14-inch HD (1366 x 768 pixels) 10-point multi-touch display. It’s a glossy panel with kind of a low DPI – 112 pixel density. I won’t consider the HD resolution as being a con because that is the industry standard for this price range. The Full HD ultrabooks exceed the $1,000 price limit.
  • In what regards the exterior design, the matte finish gives the sense of owning a much more expensive laptop than it is the price tag for the M5-481PT-6644. It’s a beautifully looking laptop.
  • The Chiclet-style keyboard it’s not extraordinary but once you get used to it, you won’t feel as you were touching a product of inferior quality. On the other hand, the touchpad is inferior and a con against this touch Acer M5.
  • The Dual-Core i5-3337U Processor is rather capable of developing a satisfying level of raw power. It runs on 1.8GHz core speed, the Turbo frequency goes up to 2.7GHz, and has 3MB L3 cache, which are shared with the Intel HD Graphics 4000, the integrated GPU.
  • 6GB DDR3 RAM, which I find to be enough amount of memory for getting work done without any lags. There’s no room for upgrading the amount of RAM.
  • Intel HD Graphics 4000 is the integrated graphics card for this touch lightweight laptop.
  • Acer M5-481PT-6644 offers as storage space a hybrid hard drive: 500GB 5400RPM HDD plus 20GB SSD. A similar thing takes place under the hood of the Asus VivoBook S500CA- DS51T. That’s not the only similarity between the two that’s why I recommend considering the Asus model as an alternative to this reviewed touch budget laptop.
  • For connectivity, Bluetooth, 802.11N wireless, and Ethernet port, are the available options.
  • The connectors are: 2 USB 3.0 ports, HDMI output, SD card reader, Kensington Lock, and audio jack. It even integrates an optical drive, DVD±RW DL. Plus it features a 1.3MP camera.
  • The battery life is advertised to last as much as 8 hours on one charge. That depends. It all goes down to the developed activities. Disregarding this, Acer M5-481PT-6644 the average battery life will easily exceed 5 hours and it will go up to 8 hours, that is the interval and it’s a spectacular one.
  • At a thinness of around 0.80 inches this is an ultrabook so it’s naturally expected to be light. It’s fairly light and portable – weighs 4.63 pounds (2.1kg).
  • Comes with 1-year warranty.

Acer M5-481PT-6644 is a budget option for those who want the touch experience for easier navigation through Windows 8; it’s an affordable light ultrabook capable of satisfying performances as a day to day device so it’s totally worth it for the average consumer. Check Price at Amazon
